Leonard Cohen: everybody knows
Acabo de ver en la tele un homenaje muy interesante llamado "Leonard Cohen:I'm your man "
Por casualidad, zapeando después de cenar, me he encontrado con el rostro de Rufus Wainwrigh hablando acerca de cómo le conoció en Montreal, y cantando a continuación uno de sus temas. Me ha encantado escuchar a Wainwrigh después de haberle visto recientemente en el FIB . Un personaje, no sólo por como canta, también por lo que dice.
Pero además me ha interesado mucho la letra de la canción que sonaba en ese momento. No es necesario que ahora me ponga a elogiar el talento de Cohen . Pero si que tome nota de leerle más despacito.

Leonar Cohen es uno de los mejores escritores que cantan. Además, envuelve sus palabras en una música maravillosa, capaz de cambiar el estado de ánimo de quien lo escucha y hasta de cambiar la textura del aire que se respira en la habitación donde él suena.
Algo así explica Nick Cave en ese interesante documental. De cómo escuchó por primera vez "Songs of Leonard Cohen" en la casa de una amiga, en un pequeño y cerril pueblo perdido australiano, y de pronto se sintió la persona más afortunada y especial del mundo. Eso es lo que Leo puede llegar a hacerte sentir.
Yo tuve la inmensa suerte de que me regalasen el libro que recogía toda la poesía de Cohen -sus poemas y las letras de sus canciones-, en edición bilíngüe e incluyéndolo todo, todo, hasta su disco antepenúltimo disco.
Lo atesoro con un cariño infinito. Es de los primeros libros que llevo conmigo allá donde transporto mis cosas para un tiempo, digamos, mediano. Cómo no.
Además, Leonard Cohen es autor de un par de novelas de las cuales, al menos la primera, merece mucho la pena. Eso sí, en castellano ya no se encuentra, salvo que uno tenga suerte escarbando en la pila de saldos, y encuentre flores por entre tanto resto sin fortuna...
